The New York Knicks compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as an American professional basketball team member of the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division.
The Madison Square Garden is the multi-purpose arena where the Knicks play their home games, and the New York Rangers (NHL team) also use the stadium for their own purposes. The New York Knicks were founded in 1946 by Ned Irish still located in their original city, and one of the two teams in New York City another team is the Brooklyn Nets, and one of the eight-oldest teams in the league alongside the Boston Celtics.

The downfall of the team for some years until Red Holzman was appointed as their head coach in the late 1960s. Through the guidance of this new coach, the team was able to acquire two NBA championships in 1970 and 1973, which was an achievement even though they didn’t make it to the NBA Finals.
The 1990s were not that fruitful for the Knicks but they advanced to the NBA Finals in 1994 and 1999 but did not win any championships. The team has been trying to regain their status for years now but to no avail. The Knicks had their ups and downs as there are times when the players had to deal with severe injuries that led to them lagging. During this time, the Knicks seemed to be demoralized as they failed miserably.
The last time they made a great win was during the 2012-2013 season where they won the division title after nineteen years. Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire were the forwards that made this possible for the team. Luckily, Anthony got better which led to him getting back to the game and there was hope again. Unfortunately, the expectations people had did not come to be as they ended up losing again.
Red Holzman, Lenny Wilkens, Larry Brown, Pat Riley, Don Nelson, and Rick Pitino are among the coaches who have worked with the New York Knicks over the years. Ned Irish, Mike Burke, Richard Evans, Scott Layden, Steve Mills, Donnie Walsh are some of the Knicks team presidents who have ruled the team. Leon Rose is the current president of the Knicks. The Knicks have not managed to get their success again as they have been lagging up until now.
