The Phoenix Suns founded in 1968 in Phoenix, Arizona plays its home games in the Phoenix Suns arena, Phoenix, Arizona. This is the only major team in American sports using its local area name “Phoenix” instead of “Arizona States”.

The local and team designers at the franchise choose purple and orange colors to represent the team. The uniform had futuristic ‘Phoenix’ word marked other block letters and numbers embedded in the uniform. The uniform had white trim and underwent many design changes, such as player names and logo fonts. However, in 2014 the team added a grey alternate uniform with a splash of green color, but the purple icon uniforms came back in 2017.
